What do you value most about working in engineering?

As an engineer at this company, I am offered an outstanding working environment and that promotes a sustainable work/life balance. The thing I value most about working in engineering is the support that we are able to provide as development in order for us all to be the best at what we do.

What do you currently do as an engineer?

I currently work on the AFC engineering team and am involved in all aspects of AFC design for longwall mining systems. However, a large part of my role is new product development. I currently lead a team of three high-performance engineers and together we head up a range of research and development projects aimed at making market leading improvements in the field of mining equipment design and performance enhancement.

Tell us about one of our proudest moments being an engineer...

Probably my proudest moment was being part of the OptiDrive VSD launch. To get to to the point where we had a product to be able to sell was incredible and then to be able to go and engage with the customers and tell them about what we have and what improvements this could bring to their operations has very much been a high point for me.
