This October, our Belo Horizonte, Brazil location held its annual Safety Week with lectures on health promotion and accident prevention. In honor of the 60th anniversary of Joy Global Brazil and seven years without lost time accidents, the facility invited both employees from a key customer and our employees’ children.
The main theme was Hand Injury Prevention and featured the slogan “Hands: I Care.” The children participated in multiple safety activities, including the correct operation of a loader simulator and a safety walk. The children carried signs to alert their parents working in the facility, such as: "Dad, take care of your hands because I'm awaiting for your hug when you get home, " Mom, take care of your health!", “Daddy, do not forget to wear your safety shoes, remember we will play a lot of football during the holiday seasons. "
In addition, employees attended educational lectures and workshops, participated in health assessments, and learned about the Safety Award 2015 and the new EHS manual.
As the pictures show, employees, guests and children had a wonderful time!
